Doctor in Electronic Systems Engineering for Intelligent Environments from the UPM in 2015, with International Mention. He has held different teaching positions at the UPM since 2010 and since 2019 he has held the figure of Associate Professor. His research lines have focused on wireless sensor networks, with special interest in their security, attacks and countermeasures. His recent research interest has been especially focused on the security at micro-architectural level, both in embedded systems and servers, and in reconfigurable systems for 5G switching nodes. These works have been developed within the multiple R&D projects in which he has participated.

He has carried out two international research stays of 3 months: in 2009 at the Berkeley Wireless Research Center of the University of California at Berkeley (UCB), together with Professor Jan Rabaey, in the Aether Plug and Connectivity Broker projects, and in 2017 at the Artificial Intelligence, Visual Communications and Networks Research Center of the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) in the European projects of 5GPP SelfNet and SliceNet.

He has actively participated in more than 20 national R&D projects, both in public calls and in transfer contracts with companies, collaborating, among others, with MásMovil, JSC Ingenium, 3M, Imesapi, Indra, ISDEFE or Altran.
